Dr. Watson is a native of Chicago but has called Tucson home since 1970. He attended Canyon del Oro High School and continued his undergraduate and medical school education at the University of Arizona. He then completed his trainingas a fellow in cardiovascular disease at the University of Oklahoma.

His interest in medicine began as an undergraduate student when he realized that he enjoyed the sciences but also found satisfaction in the personal interaction and education of patients and their families. His focus on cardiology developed in medical school when he began to experience the rapid evolution of medical technology and how it could be applied to the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Watson has been with Desert Cardiology of Tucson since 1996. His expertise from an additional year of training in echocardiography has helped Desert Cardiology to create one of Southern Arizona’s most comprehensive and state-of-the-art echocardiography labs.

Dr. Watson and his wife Mary have three boys, who enjoy playing basketball and attending U of A basketball games. Every year, the Watsons spend vacation time in the White Mountains where they play golf in the cool mountain air and fish for trout at Hawley and Reservation Lakes.
