Paul Stamer was raised in Fontana, California. He has been a Tucson resident since 1991, when he moved here to attend the University of Arizona on an athletic scholarship. There he earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences while becoming a four-year letter winner for the U of A football team. After graduation, he continued with the team as a graduate-assistant football coach while pursuing a master’s degree in Language, Reading and Culture. He then returned to his original aspirations of being involved in the medical field and worked as an exercise physiologist in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department at Northwest Medical Center.
In 2002, seeking to become more involved in patient care, he returned to California to earn a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. He has been a member of the Desert Cardiology Team since November 2004. Paul entered the medical field to save lives and help people live and feel better. He is passionate about the prevention of cardiovascular disease and always seeks to learn new methods and practices in the field.
Paul is married with two children. The family enjoys swimming, visiting the Tucson Zoo and reading. They also enjoy spending time in Southern California for the many attractions the state offers, like the beach, camping, skiing and Disneyland. He is proud of his wife, Natalie, who works for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which raises funds for children’s cancer research.
